NextStage AM is making a new investment in its Capital Entrepreneur program with the entry into the capital of the Cartonnerie Moderne group, specializing in the manufacture of paper and cardboard packaging for the food industry (bakers, chocolatiers, caterers, pastry chefs, bars). salads, pizzerias etc…). This minority operation, carried out alongside the group's entrepreneur, Vincent Rey, allows the company to mobilize a total of 4 million euros to accelerate its development in France and internationally.
The Cartonnerie Moderne group has established itself among the independent leaders in the manufacture of eco-responsible packaging for the food industry in France, with a diverse range of products, ranging from boxes to sachets and supports. The offer is based on both ranges of in-stock products available without delay and highly customizable solutions that can be manufactured to order in large and small series thanks to its integrated research and design office. Cartonnerie Moderne counts among its end customers both independent artisans and large national food chains.
The quality of products made in France in the group's 3 factories with labels (14001, 9001, Imprim'Vert, FSC, PEFC, ECOVADIS, etc.) existing or in the process of certification, the flexibility of industrial processes and the level of service offered have enabled the group to acquire an excellent reputation among specialized market players. Driven by a favorable regulatory environment, and in a context of the fight against plastic pollution, the group has, since the takeover of the company in 2013 by Vincent Rey, multiplied its turnover fivefold to reach just under 15 million euros with a production capacity of 200 million boxes per year on three production sites in the PACA and Rhône-Alpes region. Thanks to cardboard packaging produced in Cartonnerie Moderne factories, the group has avoided the use of more than 70 tonnes of plastic since 000.
In recent years, the group has particularly demonstrated its ability to move up the value chain through the completion of two structuring acquisitions with the successive integration of the companies Alpes Emballages in 2019 and Défi Imprimerie in 2020.
This fundraising aims to finance an ambitious development plan around three main axes: the continued enrichment of the product offering in order to become a real marketplace for its customers, the conquest of new customer-distributors, and the realization of new external growth operations in order to strengthen the group's positioning on the market. Cartonnerie Moderne also intends to invest in its industrial facilities.
